Engineering selection guide

How to choose dual- and tri-frequency ultrasonic cleaning transducers

Multi-frequency designs can support different stages or parts in one cleaning system, but the generator, tank and transducer must be matched as a complete system.

When to consider a multi-frequency design

A dual- or tri-frequency design can be evaluated when one machine handles different materials, contamination levels, or coarse and fine cleaning stages. Multiple frequencies do not automatically improve every process.

  • STC-4SH-28K/40K: 28 ± 1 / 40 ± 1 kHz, 60 W.
  • STC-4SH-3840K/80K: 40 ± 1 / 80 ± 5 kHz, 60 W.
  • STC-4SH-40K/80K/120K: 40 / 80 / 120 kHz tri-frequency, 60 W.

System conditions to confirm together

The generator must support the target frequencies and switching logic. Tank and bonding design must accommodate all frequency bands, and impedance, temperature rise, load and power distribution require verification at each frequency.

Recommended validation process

Provide tank drawings, parts, medium, contamination, cycle target and generator information. Confirm samples and electrical performance first, then tank-level installation and process tests before freezing the production specification.

TECHNICAL FAQ

Common customer questions

Can both frequencies operate at the same time?+

This depends on the transducer, generator and system design and cannot be determined from the model name alone.

Is tri-frequency always better than dual-frequency?+

Not necessarily. Without a defined third process need, another frequency increases matching and validation complexity.
