Engineering selection guide

Selecting 200 kHz high-frequency and 965 kHz megasonic cleaning elements

High-frequency and megasonic projects often address finer surfaces and features, but they are not simple frequency substitutes and require different drive, mounting and process validation.

Two product directions

STC-4SH-25200K is rated at 200 ± 5 kHz, 30 W and Ø30 × 33 mm. P4-70.5×30.5×2.2 is rated at 965 ± 10 kHz, 10000 pF ± 10% and 0.3 Ω. Their structures and system requirements differ.

Information needed for project evaluation

Provide part material and dimensions, target particles or contamination, surface requirements, tank or flow-channel design, liquid medium, temperature, generator conditions and cycle target.

  • Do not extrapolate megasonic results directly from low-frequency cleaning experience.
  • Evaluate drive matching, mounting, thermal management and long-term stability.
  • Validate the process with representative parts and contamination.

TECHNICAL FAQ

Common customer questions

Can a megasonic element be bonded directly to a standard cleaning tank?+

The element specification alone is insufficient. The mounting substrate, drive and fluid system must be evaluated together.

Which cleans better, 200 kHz or 965 kHz?+

There is no universal answer without the part and process. Select through contamination targets, surface requirements and sample testing.
