Engineering selection guide

How to select piezoelectric ceramic rings for ultrasonic welding

Welding ceramic rings must match the transducer stack, target frequency, preload structure, capacitance and mechanical dimensions—not outer diameter or nominal frequency alone.

01

Dimensions are only the first step

Rings with the same outer diameter can differ in inner diameter, thickness, material and electrical behavior. For replacement, provide the original drawing, model, target frequency, stack and operating conditions.

02

Representative current models

The current Sunnytec catalog includes SCC-S44-13×5×2.3, 40×16×6, 50×20×6, 50×20×7 and SCP-S81-50×17×6.5 for preliminary comparison.

03

Confirmation before production

Sample validation should cover assembly, preload, frequency matching, electrical behavior, temperature rise and actual welding cycles. Production follows the latest mutually approved specification.

TECHNICAL FAQ

Common customer questions

Is welding-machine frequency enough to select a ceramic ring?+

No. Dimensions, stack, preload, capacitance, power and duty cycle are also needed.

Can the ceramic be customized to a drawing?+

Submit the drawing and target parameters for manufacturability and sample evaluation.
